Every promise in the contract, kept.
The hardest part of real estate isn’t finding the client — it’s carrying the deal, intact, from signed offer to keys. We build the follow-through.
DeedSpring is built by the team behind Stacker. Since 2017, Michael Skelly and Sam Davyson have been building the platform that lets anyone turn the data they already have into working software — CRMs, client portals, internal tools — without writing a line of code. Backed by Y Combinator and Andreessen Horowitz, Stacker powers hundreds of businesses, from local firms to Fortune 500 teams. One obsession has run through all of it: making the people who actually run a business more effective at running it.
Along the way, one industry kept showing up in the success stories: real estate. Agents, teams, and brokerages were using Stacker to track transactions, give buyers and sellers a portal into their deal, and keep everyone pointed at the same dates. They weren’t asking for a generic app builder — they were assembling, piece by piece, the same product. Over and over.
Our customers had already sketched DeedSpring inside Stacker. We decided to build it properly.
What changed everything was AI. The Stacker platform grew agents — software that doesn’t just display where a deal stands, but does the chasing itself: reading the contract, holding every date, nudging the lender, following up on the signature that hasn’t come back. Suddenly the gap our real estate customers had been papering over — the eleven weeks between signed offer and keys, run on inboxes and memory — had a real answer.
So we built it. DeedSpring is everything we’ve learned from a decade of making businesses run better, distilled into one product for real estate transactions: an AI coordinator that never drops a date, and portals that let every buyer and seller see exactly what happens next. It runs on the same Stacker platform that hundreds of businesses already trust — purpose-built, this time, for the closing table.
Four principles we won’t trade away
Carried over from a decade of building Stacker, and written into every decision about what the product does — and refuses to do.
The agent stays in charge
The coordinator drafts, nudges, and flags — but nothing goes out under your name that you wouldn’t send yourself. It’s your deal. We’re the follow-through.
Boring reliability over shiny demos
A deadline chased on a quiet Tuesday is worth more than any launch video. We ship the unglamorous thing that works every single time.
Clients deserve to know what’s happening
Silence reads as trouble. The portal answers “what happens next” in plain English, before anyone has to pick up the phone to ask.
AI does the chasing, humans do the judgment
Software is tireless about follow-ups and dates. The call that needs empathy — or a hard decision — still gets a person.
The team behind Stacker
DeedSpring is founded by the pair who started Stacker in 2017 — and built by the Stacker team, who’ve spent years making business software that ordinary teams actually run on.
Michael Skelly
Co-founder & CEOComputer science at Oxford, AI at Imperial. Has spent the last decade building tools that let anyone create the software their business needs.
Sam Davyson
Co-founderPhysics at Cambridge, then ten years in the Salesforce ecosystem — and the conviction there had to be a better way to build business software.
From platform to product
- 2017
Stacker founded
Michael and Sam start Stacker with a simple idea: the people who run a business should be able to build the software it runs on.
- 2020–2021
Y Combinator, then Andreessen Horowitz
Stacker goes through YC and raises a Series A from a16z. Hundreds of businesses build their CRMs, portals, and internal tools on the platform.
- Along the way
Real estate keeps winning
Transaction trackers, buyer and seller portals, deal pipelines — real estate teams keep building the same thing on Stacker, and thriving with it.
- Today
DeedSpring
AI agents on the platform can finally do the chasing, not just show the status. We take everything we’ve learned and build the dedicated product.
Close with confidence.
Set up your first transaction in minutes. Your clients get their portal — and your coordinator starts working the file — the moment you do.
